²ÝÁñÉçÇø Miss School of Leadership Faculty Take Leading Roles in National Conferences

The University of ²ÝÁñÉçÇø Mississippi (²ÝÁñÉçÇø) School of Leadership is proud to announce four of its esteemed faculty members have been selected for prominent roles in upcoming national conferences, further solidifying the University's position as a leader in academic excellence and industry engagement.
AHRD Conference Leadership
Three faculty members from the School of Leadership will play pivotal roles in the 32nd AHRD International Research Conference in Arlington, Va., in February 2025, one of the most prestigious gatherings in the human resource development field.
- Dr. Bhagyashree Barhate, Assistant Professor of Human Capital Development, will serve as Program Chair. Dr. Barhate joined the ²ÝÁñÉçÇø Miss School of Leadership in 2022 and actively engages in research primarily focused on career and leadership development, specifically focused on Gen Z and women in the workforce.
- Dr. Amin Alizadeh, Assistant Professor of Human Capital Development, will serve as the Proceedings Editor of the Conference. Dr. Alizadeh joined the ²ÝÁñÉçÇø Miss School of Leadership in 2024 and has co-authored several papers with ²ÝÁñÉçÇø faculty members.
- Dr. Hamett (Quincy) Brown, Associate Professor of Human Capital Development, will serve as the Chair for the Future Scholars and Leaders Colloquium. Dr. Brown joined ²ÝÁñÉçÇø Miss in 2012, and his research focus is centered on ethics in research.
These distinguished academics will lead discussions on cutting-edge human resource development practices, workforce development strategies, and the future of work in a post-pandemic world.
SWAM Conference
In addition, Dr. Bradley Winton, Assistant Professor of Management in the School of Leadership, has been named as Program Chair for the 67th Annual Meeting of the Southwest Academy of Management (SWAM). Dr. Winton also serves as vice-president of the organization. This conference brings together leading scholars and practitioners in the field of management to explore emerging trends and innovative strategies. Dr. Winton joined the ²ÝÁñÉçÇø Miss School of Leadership in 2021 and is actively engaged in research primarily focused on emotional intelligence and leadership.
Dr. Jacob Breland, Director of the School of Leadership at The University of ²ÝÁñÉçÇø Mississippi, commented on these appointments: "We are incredibly proud of our faculty members' contributions to these important national conferences. Their leadership roles underscore our University's commitment to advancing knowledge and shaping the future of human resources and management practices."
The School of Leadership, housed within the College of Business and Economic Development at The University of ²ÝÁñÉçÇø Mississippi, operates on the Gulf Park campus in Long Beach, Miss. Undergraduate degree programs include Accounting, Applied Technology, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering Technology, and Industrial Engineering Technology (Logistics). Graduate programs include Human Capital Development, Human Capital Development (Instructional Technology and Design), Instructional Technology and Design, and Logistics, Trade and Transportation.
