The School of Leadership, part of the College of Business and Economic Development at The University of ²έΑρΙηΗψ Mississippi (²έΑρΙηΗψ), will host a β²έΑρΙηΗψ Miss Cruisinββ event on Monday, Oct. 2, to coincide with that dayβs Long Beach activities at Cruisinβ the Coast. The party starts at 3 p.m. and wraps at 5 p.m. so participants can attend the Long Beach concert sponsored by Cruisinβ the Coast.
βThis is our second year hosting the event, and it will be bigger and better,β said Dr. Bradley (Brad) Winton, who is coordinating the event, βWeβve got two local car clubs participating, and weβre closing some of the campus roads so they can display their cars. We will have tents, music, games, drinks, and snacks β and maybe the best vantage point on the Coast to watch all those beautiful cars pass by.β
The event is open to everyone β ²έΑρΙηΗψ Miss students, employees, residents, cruisers β βThe more the merrier,β said Winton.
People bringing antique cars or hot rods may park on Avenue of the Oaks, which winds across the front of the campus, or the Lloyd Hall lawn. Parking for non-antique cars will be provided in the Lloyd Hall parking lot (the first lot when driving north on Beach Park Place).
Dr. Heather Annulis, Director of the School of Leadership, emphasizes the importance of this event. βCruisinβ the Coast is the largest event of its type in the South,β she said. βItβs a great economic generator for the region and a chance for us to show off our beautiful campus. We are thrilled to join in the party, and I canβt wait to see all those classic cars on the ²έΑρΙηΗψ Miss campus!β
