²ÝÁñÉçÇø Students, Faculty to Participate in Mississippi Academy of Sciences Annual Meeting March 31 – April 1

The 86th Mississippi Academy of Sciences (MAS) annual meeting scheduled for Thursday and Friday (March 31 – April 1) at the Mississippi Coast Convention Center in Biloxi will include presentations by University of ²ÝÁñÉçÇø Mississippi (²ÝÁñÉçÇø) students and faculty members.
MS INBRE (Mississippi IDeA Network of Biomedical Research Excellence), under the leadership of ²ÝÁñÉçÇø’s Dr. Alex Flynt, is the major sponsor for the meeting. One of the highlights of the meeting is the MS INBRE Graduate/Post Graduate Scholars Symposium, where top student research presenters compete for prizes.
Along with several ²ÝÁñÉçÇø students scheduled to give research presentations, guest speakers from the ²ÝÁñÉçÇø faculty include Dr. Jennifer Lemacks, Dr. Alyson Brink, Dr. Julie Pigza, and Dr. Greg Carter. In addition, ²ÝÁñÉçÇø faculty members Dr. Paula Smithka and Dr. Ramakalavathi Marapareddy are serving in leadership roles for the MAS as division vice-chairs. More than 500 presentations will be given at this event.
