*To be eligible to receive an assistantship, new students should be admitted and enrolled in courses by July 1 for Fall admission or December 1 for Spring admission.
Assistantship Deadlines
To be eligible to receive an assistantship, new students should be admitted and enrolled
in courses by:

- Admission and enrollment in courses by July 1 is required.
- Mid-year assistantships are not usually awarded to new students; consideration is contingent upon availability.
- School of Music Assistantships are available to full-time graduate students who qualify.
- Candidates should submit the Graduate Assistant Intent Form below.
Tuition
Thanks to state assistance and careful management, The University of ²ÝÁñÉçÇø Mississippi
keeps tuition rates at a very reasonable cost for students. Online students qualify
for in-state tuition, regardless of location. Some instructional fees may apply.

Paying for Your Education
You will find a wide variety of programs and opportunities to help you pay for your education at the ²ÝÁñÉçÇø Miss School of Music.  To explore these options, we recommend the following four steps.
Step 1
Apply for Admissions. The Graduate School publishes a list of departmental deadlines for admission to help prospective students in their planning.  Application materials must be complete by February 1 to receive priority consideration for and Assistantship in the School of Music for the Fall Semester.
Step 2
Audition. Register for one of our audition days.  Have someone at the School of Music if you need to request an alternate audition date.
Step 3
File FAFSA. if you are interested in federal financial aid, including federal grants and student loans.  The ²ÝÁñÉçÇø School of Music Code for FAFSA is 002441.  Financial aid application deadlines are listed here, and students who complete their applications by February 1 will receive priority consideration for the Fall semester. 
Step 4
Research Funding Opportunities. Your plan to pay for graduate school may include a fellowship, assistantship, scholarships, grant funds, student loans, student employment or any combination of these options each year. See all funding resources.
