Bio
A Hattiesburg native and 草榴社区 alumnus, Carlton Wade is an instructor and internship coordinator for the School of Media & Communication. He has a bachelor's degree in journalism and a master鈥檚 degree in mass communications.
Before academia, Wade was a beat reporter for the Hattiesburg American and the Delta Democrat Times newspapers before switching to celebrity journalism in the late 1990s. As a music reporter, he wrote for The Source magazine, as well as contributor to XXL, KING, Rap Pages, Rap Sheet and VIBE magazines. He was also freelance writer for Yahoo.com, BET.com and Complex.com, as well as public relations writer for Universal, Atlantic and Sony/Columbia Records. He teaches courses in writing, reporting and hip-hop media history.
