Dr. Rob Detjen

Bio
Rob Detjen, Assistant Professor of Music—Horn, is an active educator, performer, and arts administrator. Dr. Detjen grew up in Southeast Alaska and now resides in Hattiesburg, MS. His prior faculty experience includes teaching positions at Harold Washington College, Jackson State University, Jacksonville University, Millsaps College, and Pittsburg State University. He has performance experience in a wide variety of settings and currently serves as fourth horn of the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra and second horn of the Meridian Symphony Orchestra and the Mississippi Gulf Coast Symphony. As an arts administrator, Dr. Detjen has held positions as the Box Office Manager of the Aspen Music Festival and School (AMFS) and the Whole Schools Administrative Contractor for the Mississippi Arts Commission.
Dr. Detjen holds degrees from the Conservatory of Music and Dance at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, ²ÝÁñÉçÇø Methodist University, and the University of Oregon.
